ReDISCOVERY a wide-sweeping manifesto that combines themes of unity, perseverance and meditations on a better world, and presents them with pop sensibility and gusto. This is a story of finding love, loosing love and in the process rediscovering who you are.

ReDISCOVERY was written and produced as an attempt to deliver a classic 70's songwriter's album - thoughtfully sequenced to tell the listener a story unfolding over 55 minutes.

Are you tired of waiting for the next Damien Rice album? Have you worn a whole in your John Lennon records from constant repeating? Have you ever wondered if there are more crooners with the depth and precision of an Elliot Smith? If you answered yes to any of the above, ReDISCOVERY is the album your collection is sorely missing.

The brainchild of Frisbee, which happens to be this Louisville, Ky., artist’s real name, ReDISCOVERY provides an example of what happens when musical precision, tremendous songwriting ability, and time-tested artistic craftsmanship come together in one place. Built upon changing tones and speeds, caressed by intermingling ambiguous and deep lyrical components, and crafted in precise instrumental strains, this debut sparkles with possibility while reaching into the depths of the human condition for answers to the reality of confusion.

Beautifully crafted from start to finish, the album is a catastrophic blow to the bubble-gum, superficial droning prevalent in today’s music scene. Beginning with the swinging chords of Gettin it Down gliding into the senses with a powerful reach and dramatic chord interplay, the record is an expressive of depth in a world lacking conviction. Following the speedy opening, Frisbee begs the question of love in the heartbreaking quiet of Everyone,; and renders the paralytic existence of confusion in times of turmoil with the smooth sounds of Allright. The pace picks up to a more sublime level in the fourth track, which poses a myriad of questions in the form of desired belief in The True.; The soft chant of All My Life, the smooth recall of The True Reprise; and the desire for expression in Believe conspire to lend the middle of the record a deeper harmony in search of a listening ear worthy of sound.

Questions abound throughout the record, and in the tradition of artistic ambiguity Frisbee refuses to offer answers. The haunting stroke of Sweet Andie and the deserted feel of All I Want lend further weight to the desolation, which finds its heart in the quirky It Must Be Good (Being You). Finally, the record closes with an artist in search of some form of peace throughout the madness and desolation of the earlier work. With the swing of piano keys and the soft sentimental vocals of a man in need, Frisbee expresses the darkness found in the depths of the record’s journey. The soft, solemn sounds of Without You, the lonely strum of a light guitar behind Little One, and the passionate plea for a different scene in I Want U Back; all speak to the cycle of desolation, the power of remorse and the peaceful treachery of a fully examined life.

Review...

ReDISCOVERY is a very strong piece of work! The songwriting is fantastic and the vocals don't fail to please! There's a very nice flow to the album and a cheerful, uplifting vibe throughout. There are moments that I am reminded a bit of the immensely talented Crowded House.

I love Frisbee's style - the layers of piano, drums, synthesizers, guitars, strings, and other instruments that are woven through the tight, but freeing, melodies. The music feels sincere and really makes a connection with the listener via its relatable lyrics. In addition, I'm in a much better mood than I was approximately 45 minutes ago!

NOTE: This is the Frisbee ReDISCOVERY album on double LP, 180-gram audiophile pressing... CD is also available.

Frisbee (his real name) is a Louisville, Kentucky artist releasing ReDISCOVERY is a wide-sweeping manifesto that combines themes of unity, perseverance and meditations on a better world, and presents them with pop sensibility and gusto. This is a story of finding love, loosing love and in the process rediscovering who you are.

ReDISCOVERY was written and produced as an attempt to deliver a classic 70's songwriter's album - thoughtfully sequenced to tell the listener a story unfolding over 45 minutes. Each song acts as a scene in an aural movie. The songs are simple and lyrical with textures that include organic guitars, pianos, strings, analog synthesizers and layered vocals channeling John Lennon and Elliot Smith.

Inspired by Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. Frisbee an avid cross country touring rider and vintage motorcycle collector wrote and produced ReDISCOVERY over a two year period with Chip Dumstorf an award winning creative director and strong-willed lyricist (translated: the studio was tense and competitive at times but yielded great collaborations).

The ReDISCOVERY demos were recorded at Frisbees home studio in the Louisville Highlands. Live drum parts were tracked in Los Angeles and all other recording took place at Studio640, Frisbees HQ in downtown Louisville. Fab Dupont, French super mixer and fierce nationalist (Mark Ronson, Jennifer Lopez, Brazilian Girls) took the mixing reigns beginning with Little One and It Must be Good (Being You) FAB and Frisbee mixed at his NYC East Village studio PureMix.

Frisbee returned to Louisville to finish the other 11 mixes working remotely with FAB to review and discuss an approach for each song. FAB suggested Dave Kutch (NYC) should master the project (Outkast, Sarah McLachlan, Rod Stewart) and Frisbee choose Carl Rowatt at TruTone (NYC) to finish the lacquer cut for the double LP (Bruce Springsteen, Kraftwerk).

The album package and feel for ReDISCOVERY was also carefully crafted. Chip Dumstorf lead the photography and design, delivering a beautiful CD and LP package.

Why make a double LP, 180-gram audiophile pressing in a digital world? Simple. To serve the album as a revered document, a piece of work unifying art and music. The commitment is clear, ReDISCOVERY demonstrates Frisbees dedication to the listener and a chance for the listener to discover Frisbee.
